The Labour Party is now in power in the UK headed by Sir Kier Starmer as the new prime minister
Labour won the election in a landslide victory
Labour won with 412 seats whilst Conservatives came second at 121.
During ex-PM Rishi Sunak’s speech, he apologised to the conservative party and took the blame for the results

Labour has also promised to build more houses to ease the housing crisis
They promised to build 1.5mn houses over 5 year in government
This caused housebuilding stocks to surge following their victory
Starmer also stated that one of his first acts of power would be to abolish the Rwanda scheme, “its never been a deterrent... I’m not prepared to continue with gimmicks”
Labour has pledged not to increase national insurance or income tax rates leading people to believe that they will have to find alternatives to fund their plans for change
